ATLANTIC KELP GRANULES (Ascophyllum Nosodum) Certified Organic

Feed grade vs Human grade, what is the difference? As far as I can tell, human grade is powdered and feed grade is granule. They both come from the same places (North Atlantic) and are handled by the same processors.  The ingredients are the same...kelp! Both are readily accepted by my horses and both are very consistent. Feed grade is just a bit less expensive.
Kelp provides over 70 vitamins and minerals, including iodine.

If you feed kelp, be careful when providing a mineral block with added iodine. Horses (average size) may use 1-2 ounces (or 2-4 TBS) of kelp a day (depending on weight) but when free fed will often eat higher amounts for a period of time and then not need any. Please be careful with free feeding as the small granules can be inhaled. If you choose to free feed, dampen down and only feed enough for a day or two. Please use much smaller doses for minis!

Kelp is a vital part of our Iron Horse, Iron Hoof and All In One recipes though your horses may like to have a larger amount in the short term until nutritional deficiencies are dealt with.
