Hello Wild Horse Family! An Update.

I know its been quite a while since my last blog post, and I do apologize for that. I'm sure you all understand when I say the last year and some have been pretty overwhelming and challenging to deal with. We live in very unsure times, don't we? But still our families and furry friends need us, and so we trudge on. I can honestly say that all of my energies have been focused not only on just keeping Wild Horse Products running but in taking care of my family: My husband who is a disabled Vet, my youngest daughter who is single with two preteen boys, and my oldest daughter who recently got married and is expecting a baby in May (and so far its been a rough pregnancy!), plus her daughter who just became a teenager this year. Add in that a pandemic, a shaky economy, and trying to grow a business and all the challenges that go with that and its hard to find energy to spare!

So the news I hate to give. Prices for ingredients are increasing, shipping costs are increasing, and items are starting to become harder to find. Recipes may change without notice as ingredient availability changes. Prices will increase as we are forced to increase them. As we are a small business, we do not have the profit margins nor the ability to buy once a year (as most large importing herb companies do) so we are very dependent on what all of our suppliers bring in...and their price changes. However, we want to assure you we are doing everything we can to keep our prices as low as possible and only increase prices when forced to do so in order to stay in business.  We absolutely understand it is getting harder for families to pay their bills, let alone care for their horses so we will do everything we can to stay affordable and be able to take care of our business. We also need to care for our families and this business cares not only for five adults and 3.5 grandkids, but 3 dogs, six cats, 6 goats, two horses, one pony, three minis, about a dozen chickens and a turkey, most of which are rescues!

Unfortunately I'm not one of those companies that constant harasses its customers to spend spend spend! Constant nagging emails, sales that arent really sales, gimmicks such as "free shipping" or "bogos"..I just prefer to have honest pricing. I also do very minimal marketing as our products work best when referred by our customers (which I highly appreciate!). So I would like to request, if you love our products, share us with a friend! Though we can be difficult to get a hold of (no call center so please email) we are happy to chat with people about diets, suggested mixes, and whatever help we can offer. You can request samples sent in your packages or we can send samples upon request. Also, we have recently set up small 3-4oz bags of all of our recipes for purchasing a small amount of each product to try, which is also a good size to keep around for emergencies!

A couple of new things...both of my daughters and son in law are working for me now, so I can do more things like adding to this blog (and less of the heavy work on me! Phew!) I also have a couple of new recipes I am working on and trying to figure out a better way to do things like custom blending (which wasn't working and needed rethinking) and perhaps pelletizing some of the mixes.

In closing...hoping and praying our world straightens itself out, but if it does it doesn't look like it will be anytime soon. We'll keep doing our best to supply wonderful recipes to our customers and helping your equine and canine friends be their best!

Have a blessed Christmas and and even more blessed New Year!

P.S. Keep an eye out for our yearly sale, which will most likely be in February...we're still looking at price changes and inventory supply before we decide on a date but we will hold our sale at some time early in the year.

Remember to hug your fur babies!
