Today is our 37th Anniversary!
…Not for WildHorse Products, but our marriage. It's amazing to think we’ve been through so much over that time, but especially our marriage. One of the reasons I married my husband, Dan, was because I saw him bravely jump on the back of a stallion and ride him through a field of mint. It was a scene that would fit perfectly into any Hallmark movie! Though I wasn’t raised around horses, I had “horse sickness” since the age of 6, when I fell in love with the neighbor’s horse. Over the years that horse sickness meant only an occasional ride on a rented horse clear up to when I turned 37 and my darling husband bought me my first horse. Nic was a 4 year old morgan gelding. Very pretty but very untrained and completely the wrong horse for me, though I did learn a lot from him! That led me through a series of horses of different ages and breeds, most of them with a host of health issues (cheap horses are cheap for a reason!) and here I am today, helping other people with horses with health issues!
Though I’ve downgraded from riding horses to minis, my love of horses still holds and over the years I’ve found a passion not only for improving the health of my own horses, but other’s as well. So starting today I’m going to begin a series of highlighting my different horses and how I’ve been able to help them, struggles I’ve had, cheering big wins, and crying over losses. Here are some horses we’ll be talking about:
Sandelee our 36 year old mini
Grace, our “hugging 20” full size horse, possible mustang, host of health issues
Taffy, our nearly blind Uvietus mini
Mazie, our deaf mini
Nina, our laminitic mini
Cisco, our FWS mini
Following that will be horses that are no longer with us (either passes away or rehomed)
Hope you enjoy the series!
